Walt Disney World's Villains Land Is Officially Called Villains Land, And Its Two Major Attractions Have Been Revealed Walt Disney World's Villains Land is officially called Villains Land, and we were given some exciting updates on what delightful horrors this new space in Magic kingdom will hold when it opens.
Imagineers chose the name because it fits with the classic naming of the other lands at Magic Kingdom (Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, etc. ), and the team believes that makes it feel at home while also allowing them to make it more "devious" than the other lands.
What do we have here 🖤Welcome to Villains Land at Magic Kingdom 🏰 pic. twitter. com/xeRaP9xRDa — Disney Parks (@DisneyParks) August 16, 2026 As for the story of the land, it features a brand new, original take on Disney's iconic villains, and it all begins at the wishing well.
Once upon a time, a horribly evil wish was made at this wishing well, and it "corrupted the stone and broke open the structure, spreading the well's poisoned magic throughout the forest. " This has drawn our villains to this land, who want to claim this power for themselves.
These villains help shape the landscape of the land with their "mighty fortresses and gleaming palaces," and it was teased the size and scale of this area is being compared to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge for true immersion.
And this brings us to the first major attraction, a Maleficent Coaster. The legendary villain from Sleeping Beauty who just wanted an invite to a party will be getting her own attraction, and guests will "race through enchanted briar surrounding her frightening mountaintop fortress - if you're feeling brave enough to answer her invitation.
" While they didn't dive too deep into this, the Imagineers did tease it will include elements never before attempted on similar attractions. The second major attraction ia a Mirror Realm Dark Ride hosted by the Magic Mirror himself.
The mirror resides beneath the palace of Snow White's Evil Queen, and he'll "magically transport" guests to his mystical Mirror Realm to see how things appear on his side. Once there, guests will be "transfixed by countless Disney Villains conjured in ways only the Magic Mirror can do," and a combination of special effects and physical set pieces will bring all this to life.
Walt Disney World's Monsters, Inc. -Themed Monstropolis Gets New Details and a 2027 Opening Window Alongside the exciting news that the first part of Walt Disney World's Monsters, Inc. -themed Monstropolis will open in 2027, we learned a lot about what this land at Hollywood Studios will feature.
We'll start at the Glob Theater, which will be home to a brand-new show called 'Welcome to Monstropolis. " The monsters in this show will help introduce guests to this land, and "highlight how similar monsters and humans really are.
" Mike and Sulley will be the hosts, and there should be plenty of monster-filled suprises in store. Perhaps the most exciting update was for Harryhausen's Restaurant, which will be an actually place to eat. Yes, many of us have dreamed of eating at the spot of Mike and Celia's unfortunate date for years, and we'll soon be able to.
The menu will be "unlike anything else" offered at Walt Disney World, and the space will, thankfully, include an Audio-Animatronics figure of the iconic octopus-like sushi chef! Archie's Scare Pig Pizza is next, which will serve guests delicious slices just like PizzeRizzo did when The Muppets resided in this area.
For those unfamiliar, Archie is Fear Tech's beloved six-legged mascot from Monsters University. Speaking of that film/school, Monsters University Alumni Club will be another space to visit in Monstropolis. This space provides a "who's who of all the student clubs, fraternities, and sororities," and is home to the elite "Scarer's Club, honoring the school's legendary scarers from years past.
" For a gift for yourself or a loved on, the Scareporium will be the place to grab something to celebrate your journey into this world of monsters. We’ve got your latest EYE-witness news 👁️ on all things Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios ⭐ #D23 #WaltDisneyWorld pic.

The race will end by circling the Tankfull geyser before rocketing towards the finish line. To make it even more exciting, Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater will be right at the end will covering the race for Racing Sports Network.
The ride vehicles feature brand-new technology created by Imagineers, and the team promises guests will "feel every bump, drop, and rock because this vehicle’s tires and suspension are truly driving over and reacting to them.
